Her family ties to the Decatur area date back 4 generations where they owned a dairy farm by Black Creek Lake. The land, even though it has sold through the years, is still known by locals as the Ray/Claborn place.

April and her husband have 3 grown children. They can be found hitting the ski slopes or relaxing at the beach/lake in their downtime.
